Now, you have to lose the colors from the picture. Do this using Desaturate (Image/Adjustments/Desaturate or Shift-Control-U).
Next, duplicate the layer. For that, right-click and choose Duplicate or in the menu use Layer/Duplicate Layer. After that, invert the colors with Control-I or Image/Adjustments/Invert in the menu. You should see an image similar with this:
Kinda creepy, isn’t it? Lucky for you, you won’t have to show this image to your partner, cause I am sure it would spook him/her out of his/her mind.

Yeah, I can sure for you they really enjoying themselves, even because I’m the boy in the photo (lol).
This picture was taken in a place called Monte Verde, here in Brazil. It’s a city in the montains (very cold for brazilian’s standard, with temperatures of -5º in the winter). Curiously, it was taken in brazilian Valentine’s Day.

open document (layer 1)
copy layer -> layer 2
grayscale layer 2
copy layer 2 -> layer 3
invert layer 3
layer 3 color dodge
blur layer 3
try it, lines work out better.
if you want to add color to the sketch,
bring layer 1 on top and set to color mode
=)

The only thing that aint extremely good is the eyes and the shadow from the glasses only something to think on when you choose picture

Hi,
Nice Tutorial. Here is my two cents on how we can get the same or similar effect with lesser steps, using Graphic Pen or Charcoal filter (White and Black as FG and BG colors). Also I think you can do a Find Edges followed by a Desaturate.
